Kasey and Ashley met on their first day of grad school in 2016 at the University of Houston. Toward the end of their first class, the professor suggested they find partners for a group project, at which time Ashley turned to Kasey and said, "Will you be my partner?" —and the rest is history :). Over the past nine years, the couple has shared many adventures, including an epic year of travel around the country in a converted van and a LOT of miles hiked. They've also had a few career transitions: Kasey from therapist to software engineer, and Ashley from pastor to therapist/business owner. And finally, after spending some time exploring towns and cities they might want to call home, they are now settled into their new home in Bend, Oregon.

Over the summer, Kasey proposed on a beautiful section of the Pacific Crest Trail in Washington State while they were on a backpacking trip. She proposed at Trap Pass, and says Ashley is trapped with her—lucky Ashley! Soon after, Ashley gave Kasey a ring on the Deschutes River Trail in Bend, surrounded by sunflowers, twinkle lights, and 133 photos. This familiar walk is one they've done together often, and a place where they have dreamt and planned their life together over the past few years.

We are so grateful for the wonderful family and friends who continue to be on this journey with us, and we cannot wait to celebrate with you all in this Oregon mountain town that we now call home.
